We had not been here long when neighbors from a few blocks away were at our doorsteps. Alice and Randy had come with a basket of home made bread to welcome us to Snow Hill. Not long afterwards we were invited to dinner at the Riverhouse Inn. The other B&B’s in town had made a special effort to welcome us and offer their encouragement and help. We did not open the B&B until 2007, but all those years the town supported and motivated us. Now we are among those who welcome the Come-Heres.
We were invited to join Rotary, which we both did. Fourteen years later, Doug is still in Rotary. He is also on the board at Furnacetown and we are both members of the Chamber. It seems as a small town with concentrated interest in community organizations, everyone needs to join a couple of groups just to have enough members to fill the boards. You don’t miss a meeting or you may become president.
