In the front garden stands our lovely statue Ginevra. She was the true love of Walter P. Snow, poet and first owner of The Cedars. The story is told in his published journal “A Common Place Book”. More beautiful flowers that bloom in the summer’s constant scene, and richer than their best perfume thy love to me has been”. But her love did not last and legend has it that she left him standing at the alter for a richer man. “She is plighted to another now and every faintest trace of early feelings, nurtured long, she wishes to erase”
The story has a happy ending, in 1850 he married Ann Wilson and began building The Cedars. So we named the statue after his first love. I was wondering if anyone in Snow Hill knows of. Ginevra in the past.

Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide our guests with the ultimate Bed and Breakfast experience on the lower Eastern Shore of Maryland.

We Respect Green

At The Cedars, we use efficient lighting wherever possible. We recycle, compost and have an organic garden which offers fresh vegetables and fruits when in season.  Sheets and linens are line-dried.  We find that many of our guests also choose to be green

by their using linen responsibly and helping us to recycle. However, if at any time you wish to have your linens refreshed, we are happy to oblige.
